Notifications

Syntrum keeps you in the loop without making you watch the dashboard. Notifications come in a few shapes — in-app toasts, desktop alerts, email, and Slack — and you decide which events reach you on which channel. Most of it lives in SettingsNotifications.

You reach it from the sidebar under Admin → SettingsNotifications.

In-app message toasts#

Whenever an agent sends you a message, a toast slides in at the bottom-right of the screen — anywhere in the dashboard, not just the Inbox. Click the toast to open that conversation and reply. This is the fastest way to stay responsive while you work elsewhere in the product.

Toasts are built in and always on; they're how live agent messages surface in real time. See Chatting with agents.

Desktop notifications#

Desktop notifications let your browser alert you even when the Syntrum tab isn't focused.

  1. In SettingsNotifications, turn on the Desktop channel.
  2. Your browser will ask for permission — click Allow.

Desktop notifications only work after you grant your browser's permission prompt. If you dismissed it or blocked it, re-enable notifications for the Syntrum site in your browser's site settings, then toggle Desktop on again.

Notification channels#

The Notification channels card lists your delivery methods:

Channel What it does
Email Sends alerts to your sign-in email
Desktop Real-time browser alerts while (or after) the dashboard is open
Slack Instant alerts in Slack — requires a connected Slack integration

There's also a Team-wide alerts toggle for sending certain alerts to the whole team rather than just you.

Slack notifications need a connected Slack integration. If it isn't connected, the channel shows a Connect Slack button linking to Integrations.

Per-event preferences#

Below the channels is a matrix: what to notify you about, crossed with Email / Push / Slack. Toggle any cell to turn that event on or off for that channel.

Event Fires when
Agent Updates A task completes, a delivery goes out, or an agent makes progress
Approval Requests An agent needs your decision
Agent Errors Something goes wrong or an agent pauses
Daily Summary A once-a-day overview of agent activity

Set these to match how closely you want to supervise: an owner might want Approval Requests everywhere, while muting Agent Updates to just the daily summary.

Notification preferences are pre-wired. In environments where the backend endpoint hasn't shipped, your choices are saved to this browser (an amber note says so) and sync server-wide automatically once it's live.
