Navigating the dashboard
Once you're signed in, everything happens inside the dashboard shell: a sidebar on the left, a header across the top, and your current page in the middle. This tour names every part so you always know where to go.
The sidebar#
The left rail is your map of the product. At the top is the Syntrum logo (select it to return to Home), and just below it the workspace switcher. The rail can be collapsed to icons to reclaim space.
Navigation is grouped so related work sits together:
| Group | Items | What they're for |
|---|---|---|
| (top) | Home, Agents | Your hub and your team. |
| Status | Activity, Approvals, Inbox | What agents are doing, decisions waiting on you, and conversations. |
| Build | Templates, Workflows, Triggers | Reusable blueprints and automation. |
| Connect | Integrations, Knowledge, Webhooks | Tools, documents, and inbound events. |
| Monitor | Reports, Safety, Audit Log | Performance, governance, and the full record. |
Badges appear on Approvals and Inbox when items need you, so you can see pending work without opening each page. Below the navigation are two quick links — Tutorials and Docs — for learning the basics.
The workspace switcher#
Just under the logo, the switcher shows your current workspace (for example, "Acme Workspace"). A workspace is one company's container — its own agents, data, and billing.
- Select it to see all workspaces you belong to; the current one is checked.
- Choose another to switch into it. Syntrum reloads so every view reflects the new workspace.
- Choose Create Workspace to start a fresh one. It begins empty with its own agents, data, and billing, and you're switched into it right away.
Workspaces and the object model are explained in Agents, workspaces & integrations.
The header#
The top bar holds your global tools. From left to right:
Search (⌘K)#
Select Search or jump to… or press ⌘K to open the command palette. Start typing to search across your workspace — agents, threads, approvals, knowledge, tasks, and members — and jump straight to a result. With the box empty, it offers quick actions (Create Agent, Connect Integration) and navigation shortcuts (Go to Home ⌘H, View Reports ⌘R).
Create#
The Create button is a shortcut to make new things without hunting through pages:
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| New Agent | ⌘N |
| Connect Integration | ⌘I |
| Upload Knowledge | ⌘U |
| Create Workflow | ⌘W |
Notifications#
The bell shows a red count when you have unread notifications. Open it to read recent items, select one to jump to what it's about, or choose Mark all read. Syntrum also raises live toasts in the corner when an agent sends you a new message or needs a decision — select a toast to go straight to the inbox or approvals. (Desktop notifications appear too, if you've granted the browser permission from Settings.)
Theme toggle#
The sun/moon button flips between light and dark, with a smooth reveal animation. For a three-way choice — Light, Dark, or System (which follows your operating system) — use the theme control inside the profile menu.
System status#
A colored pill reports the health of your agents:
| Pill | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🟢 All systems operational | Everything is healthy. |
| 🟠 Degraded | Some agents are unhealthy — hover for details. |
| 🔴 Agents down | Agents are not running. |
Hover the pill to see how many running agents are healthy (e.g. "4/5 running agents healthy") and any reasons.
Profile menu#
Select your avatar (top-right) to open the profile menu. It shows your name and email, and links to:
- Profile
- Workspace Settings — see Workspace settings
- Team Members — see Team & roles
- Billing — see Billing
- Keyboard shortcuts (⌘K) and the Theme selector
- Sign out — ends your session on this device
The page area#
Everything to the right of the sidebar and below the header is the current page. Home is designed to be your daily landing spot — it pulls together live activity, what needs you, your team's status, insights, and a setup checklist. Details in the Quickstart and throughout the docs.
What's next#
- Quickstart — put the shell to use hiring your first agent.
- Managing agents — the Agents list and agent controls.
- Chatting with agents — use the inbox to guide your team.
